How does Rent-a-Son work?
Rent-a-Son provides affordable, personable, insured, and trained labour for any household project or task that requires physical assistance coupled with a great attitude.
When can I Rent-a-Son?
Rent-a-Son's hourly services are for hire 7 days a week for morning, afternoon, evening and night shifts.
I have a last minute request!! Can you help us?
Because of the nature of our services, we are called often for last minute help. As a result, we have built systems to help manage this process and have become very good at dealing with last minute requests. Even if you need labour help today, we can help. We can't guarantee same day response but can always guarantee next day service.
How much does your service cost?
We provide our labour helpers on an hourly basis at a four hour minimum. We would disclose actual rates here but rates are subject to changes based on your request. A representative will be glad to discuss the costs associated with your labour needs.
What if I don't have four hours of work?
We provide customers with two options when there isn't four hours of work. You can hire Rent-a-Son for 1 or 2 hours but there is a 1 hour service fee for both of those options to compensate for the increase in travelling time. Our other option is Neighbor Sharing. With this option you can collect some neighbors who are also in need of our assitance and essentially share the four hours. This option is popular and is sometimes used for people who require weekly or biweekly services.
What kind of people do you hire?
Since our conception, one thing has remained constant; great staff who make you feel comfortable in your own home. Although a major prerequisite when looking for new employees is physical agility and strength, we focus a lot on the attitude and demeanor of our candidates as well. We pride ourselves on our personable and friendly approach to helping you with your household tasks. The majority of our sons are either on their way to college/university, at college/university, or have just completed their degree. Just like most parents, we put a lot of emphasis on education!
Do you provide tools and equipment with your service?
We do not provide any tools or equipment with our service.
Can you provide us with a skilled service?
We provide semi-skilled labourers. If you have a job that requires any form of license, certification or formal training, you may want to call a licensed professional. We cannot provide any electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or highly skilled services. Please visit our services page for more information about how we can help.
Do you work outside of Toronto
We do provide our services outside of the Toronto area. We can help as far as you'd like us to but there are travel fees associated with any work that falls outside of the Toronto borders. Call a representative to learn more about our travelling fees.
How do I book my "son"?
A request for labour can either be submitted online through our online request form or you can call in to speak to one of our representatives at 416-913-9021. When you are ready to setup your job task with us we will create a customer file and setup your assignment. All of the details of your assignment, your file and our terms and conditions will be e-mailed to you through our confirmation letter. Once you receive that letter you are required to select a link at the bottom of the email approving all of the details. Once that is complete, one of our sons will be selected for the specific task requested.
